Man: When most people think of Orange County, they first think of beaches, and amusement parks and TV shows. But one place worth knowing more about
the City of Fullerton.
Now Fullerton was
after this guy, George Fullerton because he
bring the one thing that made it an actual city, the railroad.
Fullerton sits on the north part of Orange County, about 15 minute drive from Disneyland and throughout the downtown area you
signs of how important the railroad
to the making of the city. So much in fact, the community gets together once a year to celebrate this with an event called Railroad Days.
Now another important part of Fullerton’s identity
its baseball. Fullerton is home to a four-time NCA champ, the Titans and also a brand new minor league team, the Fullerton Flyers.
Benjamin: Hi, yes, I
Benjamin Johnson, a Fullerton resident. I've
a fan of the Flyers for three years now, specifically this year and last year because I
last year, but I have been a fan the whole time. League baseball are supportive to Fullerton because it is a good way
people together, there is more camaraderie, and there is more of a family fun type atmosphere and not quite as corporate.
Tammy: This is my husband Scott and I am Tammy Storms and we
in Fullerton for seven years. Fullerton is different from the rest of Orange County I think because it's
that sort of small town vibe where people seem to just care about one another more. I do not think there is the focus on materialism that there is on other parts of Orange County. It's got stores downtown and some old homes that people are working on restoring.
I lived in a urban planned brand new neighborhood before I lived here and it just
so strange to me. I just felt like I did not fit in. and this just feels like home.
Man: Now, Fullerton gives the appearance of a sleepy quaint town. But it has a pretty decent nightlife as well. We
the start of the evening here at the Olde Ship. Great place for fish and chips and a pint. But if steak is more your thing, Stubriks
the best in town along with great live blues music. Right next door to hit is the Slide Bar, a brand new rock and roll themed restaurant/bar. Down the street is Steamers, the best jazz in all Orange County and down the street from that is the dueling piano bar, Rockin’ Taco. Pretty much there is something for everybody in Fullerton.
